Day 1 Arrival in Xining | Xining – Ta’er Monastery – Qinghai Lake
Morning: Airport pick-up upon arrival in Xining. Drive to Ta’er Monastery, one of the six great Gelugpa monasteries of Tibetan Buddhism. Admire the three artistic treasures: butter sculptures, murals and embroidery.
Afternoon: Drive to Qinghai Lake. Take local pastoral trail along the southern shore to reach the lakeside directly. Visitors can stroll among rapeseed flower fields from July to August.

Day 2 Chaka Salt Lake – Da Qaidam Emerald Lake
Early Morning: Enter Chaka Salt Lake before 07:00. Take the mini train to the lake center to capture the “Sky Mirror” reflections. Red dresses are recommended for photos against the salt flats.
Afternoon: Head to Da Qaidam Emerald Lake. Capture aerial shots of mint-blue and emerald-green salt ponds by drone. Overnight in Da Qaidam Town.

Day 3 Water Yardang – U-shaped Highway – Dunhuang
Morning: Travel across Qinghai Yardang Ghost City. Explore Water Yardang by sand motorbike and witness the magical landscape blending desert and blue water.
Afternoon: Stop for photos at the famous U-shaped Highway on National Highway 315. Please abide by traffic rules and avoid standing on the roadway for shooting.
Evening: Arrive in Dunhuang. Wander Shazhou Night Market and taste local snacks such as donkey meat noodles and apricot juice.

Day 4 Mogao Caves – Mingsha Mountain & Crescent Spring
Morning: Visit Mogao Caves with professional guide introducing the history of ancient murals.
Afternoon: Ride camels up the sand dunes at Mingsha Mountain & Crescent Spring to watch the sunset. Experience desert camping, BBQ and bonfire party.

Day 5 Dunhuang – Jiayuguan – Zhangye Colorful Danxia
Morning: Pass by Jiayuguan. View the grand tower from afar and appreciate the imposing ancient Silk Road fortress.
Evening: Arrive at Zhangye Colorful Danxia. Photograph the colour-shifting landforms at sunset (Viewing Platform No.1 & No.4 recommended).

Day 6 Zhangye – Qilian Grassland – Menyuan
Morning: Cross the vast Qilian Grassland. Experience horse riding and photo shooting in Tibetan costumes; you may encounter nomadic herds migration.
Afternoon: Pass by Gangshika Snow Peak. Enjoy thousands of acres of rapeseed blossoms in Menyuan during summer (Blossom season: July – August).

Day 7 Menyuan – Xining
Morning: Drive back to Xining. Free time options: Dongguan Mosque or Qinghai Provincial Museum.
Afternoon: Transfer to airport according to flight schedule. End of the tour.
